Bio of Reggie Wilcox
I realized at an early age that basketball was more than just a game, it was a tool that could open doors and change my life. I began to see those doors open in the 8th grade, when I was just 13 years old. I was blessed with the opportunity to earn a scholarship to attend McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, AL, one of the top private schools on the Gulf Coast.
At McGill-Toolen, I was a four-year varsity starter and helped lead my team to two Alabama State Basketball appearances. I originally gave a verbal commitment to the University of Miami, but ultimately signed with Atlanta Metropolitan Junior College, where I had the chance to be part of a historic team. During my time there, we averaged over 104 points per game, became nationally ranked, and earned the prestigious Naismith Junior College Award. I also set the school records for steals and assists and earned my degree in Physical Education.
From there, I signed a Division 1 scholarship with San Jose State University in the WAC Conference. After my college playing career, I returned home to the Gulf Coast, completed my education, and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Southern University of New Orleans. I later joined the coaching staff as an assistant men’s basketball coach.
With over a decade of experience coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels, I’ve dedicated my life to developing young athletes. As the CEO of Elite Academy Sports and founder of the Elite Academy Ducks (EAD) Basketball Program, I’ve built and coached teams that have won multiple age divisions in some of the top AAU tournaments across the country. My passion is not just about winning — it’s about creating a platform for young players to grow, compete, and reach their full potential.
Elite Academy Sports has been one of the top sports organizations in the country for over a decade. We’ve had the privilege of coaching and training some of the top Division One athletes and NBA players. Our foundation is built on development — starting with kids as young as 5 years old, all the way through age 18. Our goal is to develop well-rounded young athletes, both on and off the court, and prepare them to play at the collegiate level and beyond.
